Second day Poached Creative and its almost time to go home...Today has been a rather interesting day, started off learning about writing and the different types, and structures that are used.

It was interesting to write a few short paragraphs about Isaak. I have known him for just over a month now, and although I know quite a lot about him, I actually found it difficult to put it all in writing. Eventually I did manage to complete my piece of writing and he seemed to like it.

After spending absolutely ages trying to complete my few short paragraphs about Isaak, we decided to work on the Frequently Asked Questions for the Room2Heal website. I enjoyed working on that, and thought we did a good job.

So I guess learnt about two different styles of writing today, one was very basic questions/ answers and the other was much more creative and structured.

first day...first blog..

So here I am, writing my first blog on my first day at Poached Creative training. The day started off with having to wake up at 9am just so I could get here for 9.30... and yet i was 15 mins late..not a good start but hey, at least now I know to set my alarm 15 mins earlier tomorrow.

It is absolutely freezing cold today. I actually slept for a good 40 minutes on my lunch break, because the room was so nice and warm.

Here it's me, Jessica and Isaak, who I have known for a few weeks now. Isaak was not in until the afternoon, so me and Jessica just spent the morning mainly just working on the personal development plan, which was quite interesting as it made me think about exactly what I want to gain out of this training programme.

We discussed the work that we would be doing over the next six weeks. Hopefully by the end of the six weeks I will have achieved the goals that I have set out on my personal development plan. I look forward to developing my understanding on the various different styles of writing, some of the styles and techniques that we have discussed in today's session seem very interesting, and it would be great to learn more about them. It would be a change from the same style of writing that was used for all the assignments and dissertation at university.

I'd say for me the key learning point in today's session was learning about communication. I had been half asleep most of the day due to the lack of sleep last night, but what we discussed on the different modes of communication, how it works, how to communicate effectively, etc was something that sort of woke me up and got me thinking.

As we discussed the different sources used to communicate, I sat there thinking about the potential threats that are associated with using the internet as a means of communication. We all use it...Facebook, MSN, email, online shopping services, chatrooms, forums, etc.

Having studied criminal justice for three years at uni, I'd say my mind works in a very weird way. It makes you think of the potentially 'criminal side' of everything. Literally everythin!!!
